This policy explains how Instructed Limited ("Instructed", "we", "us") handles personal data collected through instructedhq.com. It covers the website only. If we go on to work together, the data processing involved in delivering the service is covered separately by the agreement and data processing terms we sign with you.

Who we are

Instructed Limited is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are registered in England and Wales (company number 17337714), with a registered office at 51 Hilderstone Road, Stoke-on-Trent, England, ST3 7NU. Our ICO registration is in progress; the registration number will be added here once it's issued.

What we collect, and when

• When you book a call. Bookings run through Calendly. When you book, you give Calendly your name, email address and any details you add, and Calendly shares that booking with us. The Calendly popup only loads if you choose to open it — nothing is sent to Calendly just by visiting the page. See Calendly's own privacy notice for how they handle your data.
• When you email or call. If you contact us by email or phone, we hold what you send us (your name, contact details and message) so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical information for every visit — for example your IP address, browser type and the pages requested — to keep the site running securely. This is normal for any website.
• Fonts. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. To serve them, Google receives your IP address as part of the request. No cookies are set by this.

We do not run advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this site at the time of writing. If that changes, this policy and the cookie policy will be updated first.

Why we can use your data (lawful basis)

• To respond to you and arrange a call — because it is in our legitimate interests, and yours, to answer an enquiry you have chosen to send. Where you book a call, we are also taking steps at your request before any possible agreement.
• To keep the website secure and working — our legitimate interest in running the site safely.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the suppliers that help us run the website and respond to you, and only as far as they need it:

• Calendly — scheduling, when you book a call.
• Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages or Netlify) — serving the website.
• Google Fonts — serving the typefaces.
• Our email provider — if you email us.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where data is transferred abroad, it is protected by the safeguards required under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and booking details for as long as we are in contact about working together, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. If nothing comes of it, we delete or anonymise it once it is no longer needed. Server logs are kept only for a short period by our hosting provider.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask us to transfer it. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would ask that you give us the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if what we do with data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
